About
Dr. Sule Toktas is an associate professor at Kadir Has University Department of International Relations. Upon the completion of her education at the Izmir American Collegiate Institute, she went to Bilkent University Department of International Relations for undergraduate study and continued with graduate education at the Middle East Technical University Gender and Women’s Studies Programme. She received master degree with the thesis on the gender awareness of working women who had graduated from girls’ institutes between 1960-1970. She worked as research assistant at Hacettepe University in the Department of Public Administration between 1995 and 1997. Dr. Sule Toktas received her Ph.D. degree at the Department of Political Science at Bilkent University where she was also a research assistant. She defended her dissertation on Turkey’s Jews and their immigration to Israel in 2004 and went to Florence, Italy for post-doctorate study. She was a European Union Jean Monnet Post-Doctoral fellow at the European University Institute Robert Schuman Center for Advanced Research Mediterranean Programme. Sule Toktas worked as an asistant professor at Isik University Department of International Relations in 2005 and an associate professor in 2007. She teaches on a wide range of topics within the fields of political science and international relations at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Some of the courses she teaches are EU-Turkey Relations, Political Ideologies, Turkish Politics, Political Theory, History of Political Thought, Gender and Society in the Middle East, International Relations Theories and Introduction to Political Science.
